At Studio Ugo Rondinone

New York City & Zurich

For over five years, I worked with artist Ugo Rondinone in his studios in New York City and Zurich, first as a full-time employee and later as a freelancer. My role evolved from making artworks to coordinating international exhibitions. Working closely with Ugo, I developed concepts and exhibition plans based on his ideas, making sure each exhibition kept its original intention through every stage of its development.

 

I also led the prototyping and production of artworks for museums and galleries, testing materials and working with fabricators from first samples to final pieces. This included developing the artworks, their installation systems, and their packaging and transport.

Alongside his studio practice, Thomas has conceived and delivered products, commissioned pieces and international exhibitions, taking projects from concept through fabrication and installation. He has also taught at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), where he showed students how art thinking can open new directions in design.
