Exploring otherness through utensils designed for fictional hands without thumbs.

No Spare Wheels questions of how life would unfold without thumbs. Presented as a collection of handcrafted utensils, the project speculates on alternative bodily possibilities. Using these objects requires relearning everyday gestures, reshaping our relation to the body, things, and otherness. Through performative dinner parties, participants discover new ways of eating and open conversations on difference and belonging. Developed with UZH Zurich, the project gathers experiences that challenge notions of normalcy and ability.

I’m a French-American industrial designer and artist based in San Francisco. Rooted in traditional craftsmanship and functional thinking, I connect this know-how with emerging technologies to create objects with innovative forms and sustainable uses.

Alongside my studio practice, I have conceived and delivered products, artworks and international exhibitions, taking projects from concept through fabrication and installation. I have also taught at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), where I helped students discover how art thinking can open new directions in design.
